Warts
Warts are skin growths caused by a viral infection. The appearance of the wart depends on where it is growing. Warts are passed from person to person, sometimes indirectly. The time from the first contact to the time the warts have grown large enough to be seen is often several months. Variety of treatments can be used depending on the age of the patient and the type of wart.
CRYOTHERAPY
It is the use of extreme cold to treat many skin conditions. It can remove abnormal tissue like warts and skin tags. Superficial cryotherapy is used for treating alopecia , plaque psoriasis, lichen sclerosis, prurigo nodularis.
ELECTROSURGERY
It is also known as thermal cautery and refers to the process of using electrically generated heat to remove unwanted skin tissue. Skin lesions like warts,skin tags, Moles, Sebborhoeic Keratosis , Small cysts, Freckles, can be removed.
CHEMICAL PEELS
Chemical peeling is a technique used to improve the appearance of the skin. In this treatment a chemical solution is applied to the skin which causes the skin to get rid of undesirable changes that may have taken place, like pimples, pigmentation, wrinkles etc on the face or any part of the body. Chemical peels are also effective in treating plane warts, fungal nails, and dandruff.
BLEOMYCIN
It is an injection used for viral warts that are resistant to other modes of treatment.
IMMUNOTHERAPY
This modality is used when warts remain despite other treatment, in children and for multiple warts. They help in clearing distant warts also.
